CCM works with the NYC public school system to provide individual, group, and family counseling to the school community. Additional workshops and trainings are offered in mediation, anger management, non-violent conflict resolution training, and dealing with trauma in schools citywide.
This program originated as part of the New York State Project Liberty Program that worked to alleviate psychological distress resulting from the September 11 tragedy; and now provides crisis intervention to approximately 2,000 high school students and their parents in Brooklyn’s Region 6.
The goal of the program is to lessen conflicts in the classroom and create better communication and understanding between students and teachers, students and parents, and parents and school personnel.
