CCM’s Georgia’s Place is a permanent supportive housing facility for formerly homeless individuals, with a preference for the elderly. Comprised of 48 units and located at 691 Prospect Place, Brooklyn, NY 11216, Georgia’s Place opened in 2003. Onsite staff provide case management, stabilization, medication assistance, wellness services, community healthcare linkages, employment coaching, and other services to help low-income residents live an independent life.
With the generous support of a United Way Seeds to Feed grant, Georgia’s Place also has a Rooftop Farm that offers an opportunity for residents to experience the benefits of horticultural therapy while growing their own produce. The farm serves as a major resource for low-income community residents, who may lack access to affordable fresh produce.
The building is named in the memory of the late Dr. Georgia McMurray, an influential figure in the development of youth programs in New York City, and in the early development of CCM.
