Reflecting on a Remarkable Evening at the NYSPCC Fall Gala
November 14, 2024 — Last Thursday, the Rainbow Room at #Rockefeller Center was alive with joyful energy and optimism, led by the dynamic Gala MC, Cathleen Trigg-Jones.
Douglas Brooks and Carmen Collado were honored to attend The New York Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NYSPCC) Fall Gala. This organization holds a special place in our hearts, as it champions the well-being of New York City’s most valuable population—our children.
We celebrated NYSPCC’s impactful work, its 150-year legacy, and the crucial funds raised to continue this important mission. It was an honor to join Aysha Schomburg, the President & CEO of this dedicated organization, in recognizing the team’s tireless efforts to put together such a meaningful event.
For Douglas Brooks, it was an especially memorable night, as he had the chance to see his former boss and mentor, Dr. William C. Bell, receive recognition for his lifelong commitment to safely reducing the need for foster care in the United States. Dr. Bell’s words were both profound and motivating:
“One day, we will look back at the year 2024 and be judged not just on how we took care of our own children, but on how we took care of other people’s children too.”
Congratulations, Aysha, on your leadership and vision. It was inspiring to witness so many community partners and collaborators coming together in full support of your mission.
Thank you, NYSPCC, for continuing to safeguard and uplift our children and their futures. Here’s to another 150 years of impact!
